Plugged in?<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Are the speakers plugged in, switched on, and if it has separate volume control: is it up?<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"5-trim\">#5 Trim<\/h2>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"276\" src=\"https:\/\/www.deejayplaza.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/rekordbox-no-sound-trim-down.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5875\" style=\"width:470px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.deejayplaza.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/rekordbox-no-sound-trim-down.webp 700w, https:\/\/www.deejayplaza.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/rekordbox-no-sound-trim-down-500x197.webp 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rekordbox and DJ controllers have an additional volume control for each individual channel, besides the volume fader.<br>This is called the &#8220;trim&#8221;, to trim the audio level of a channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea of the trim is to make sure that audio is not clipping (VU meter is going into the red) and audio levels of audio channels are roughly the same.<br>When the trim volume is completely down, you have no audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find the trim knobs usually on top of the EQ knobs on most mixers and DJ software.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-rerouted-audio\">#6 Rerouted audio<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>When your audio suddenly stops on your computer when you plug in your DJ controller in Rekordbox, Rekordbox automatically reroutes your audio to your DJ controller.<br>A DJ controller is basically a 2-channel sound card (1 for the master, 1 for the headphone).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It makes most sense to hook up your DJ controller.<br>But you can manually force the audio back to your computer&#8217;s sound output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instructions how to do this, see the &#8220;settings&#8221;
